Radio Oceanography Laboratory team

The radlab design team in front of the prototype of the MKIII all-in-one HFDR, February 2016.

From left to right, front row: Mario Williamson (ESF), Pierre Flament, Ian Fernandez, Ryan Hlivak; back row: Brian Ng, Bénédicte Dousset, Maël Flament, David Harris, Lindsey Benjamin.

The MKIII integrates all functions of an HFDR (signal generation, power amplification, reception, analog-to-digital conversion, and data logging) in a single, field-deployable enclosure, directly powered by DC batteries from solar panels and wind generators. It alleviate the need for expensive container and air-conditioning, further bringing down the cost of HFDR operations.
